Not bad

Only place to stay in Cheltenham if you ask me

Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham Town Centre

33 Dunalley St, Cheltenham GL50 4AP, UK – 01242 548200

Came here for a meeting, didn't actually stay at the hotel but the meeting room facilities were top-notch. Bar facilities looked clean and well put together. We all are at the venue and the food was nice with a good selection. Would be happy to attend the facility again. If you have a meeting it is a great venue and competitively priced.

The hotel is well situated for a shopping trip in Chetenham as it is very close to the town centre. A good choice of places to eat and drink in the Brewery Quarter just across the road. The hotel itself was pretty basic. The rooms were very small and the double beds look like oversized singles. A nice breakfast if a little basic and the reception staff were very friendly. I'd say the right price to pay would be between £50-£70 per night.

Cotswold Grange Hotel

Pittville Circus Rd, Cheltenham GL52 2QH, UK – 01242 515119

Super stay. Lovely food. Nice clean comfortable rooms. Freindly staff. Will go back again.

This small and cozy hotel offers small but clean rooms with a great and modern bathroom. The breakfast was delicious. There’s also free parking. There are no common areas where you can relax reading a book and the speed of the WiFi wasn’t great. It’s definitely overpriced for what it’s offered.

The Langton

189-191 London Rd, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham GL52 6HT, UK – 01242 233022

This is a wonderful place for a meal for a small group. Food is always freshly prepared and of great quality, with portion sizes about spot on. We end up in Cheltenham fairly frequently with work, and when I do I particularly it when we end up stopping here for dinner of an evening. In the winter, there's often a wood fire on the go to add to the atmosphere. Coupled with plenty of parking along a main route into Cheltenham, this is well worth a stop if you're in the area.

Quickly becoming one of my favourite places to eat. Really nice atmosphere for evening or lunch. What makes it even better is that the vegan menu is not an afterthought like most places. All cooked fresh, well thought out and generally tasting vegan food and the non vegan menu is also full of choices. No need to think too hard about going, you won't regret it.

The Beehive

1-3 Montpellier Villas, Cheltenham GL50 2XE, UK – 01242 702270

The behive always has a nice atmosphere and good beer. It's a shame it wasn't a little colder as the nook with the wood burner would have made for a very cozy couple of hours. It seems quite small and intimate when you first go in but there is a surprising amount of space in odd corners. An especially nice pub once it is warm enough to sit comfortably outside.

Nice friendly local pub near Cheltenham Montpellier area. Well stocked bar with a few real ales. T.v. screen bit small for watching six nations but great atmosphere. Toilets were unfortunately pretty awful.

Harry Cook Freehouse

23 Montpellier Walk, Cheltenham GL50 1SD, UK – 01242 236857

Good selection beer and wines, nice feel to the place and staff very helpful. No Jack Daniels available and i waited over an hour for a portion of chips, spoken with manager about it and nothing was done. I wouldn't eat here again because of that ( if it takes am hour to bring out a portion of chips how ever long would it take for a meal) but id happily go for a drink here.

Great Sunday roast! I had the chicken, it was delicious! I particularly enjoyed the gingerbread stuffing, though there could have been more of it!

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Stayed 2 nights here in November 16' and had a perfect stay!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Mulberry Cottages

163 Bath Rd, Cheltenham GL53 7LX, UK – 01227 464958

The Highlands was an incredible cottage. We had a fabulous weekend. It was perfect for 10 people with a dog, and we loved the added bonus of the tennis court. The house had everything we needed; it had so much space; very clean and very well stocked. The gardens were amazing. Definitely 5 stars! What a great place in a beautiful part of East Sussex.

Riverside Cottage was perfect as far as the house and grounds were concerned, beautiful setting, ideal location, clean and equipment provided very good. Our only problem lay with not being informed that a gardener would be there on the Wednesday of our week. We had to contact Mulberry Cottages as the Gardener did not knock to say who he was or that he was to be expected. He arrived before parents were up, he could have been anyone. He drove through the gates with a Tractor/digger when small children were in the garden and our dog. When we approached him he was very rude and said it was not his problem! Safety was not his problem, this we found unacceptable. He was there all day and we had to either lock the children and dog in all day or go out as we could not use the garden on a warm sunny day. Gates left open all day. Mulberry Cottages though were polite and helpful and apologised but we effectively lost a days use of this beautiful cottage.

Kate & Tom's

Westmoreland House, 80-86 Bath Rd, Cheltenham GL53 7JT, UK – 01242 235151

I booked the Churchill Wood property for a family gathering and was blown away. The quality of the house was first class and very tasteful. The setting is idyllic too, we definitely did not want to leave. The Kate and Tom team were super too, the booking service was perfect - A very friendly team that made our booking very personal. Much appreciated.

We found the team at Kate & Toms extremely easy to deal with and had great communication with them from start to finish. We hired a beautiful house for a big celebration and couldn't rate them higher as the service provided and house we visited were first class. Will be using again in the future!

Luxury Apartments

7 London Rd, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham GL52 6HS, UK – 01242 371818

Luxury Serviced Apartments' Christchurch apartment suited us ideally. Off street parking is part of the package and the apartment is in easy walking distance to the centre of town. Cheltenham Ladies' College and Dean Close are both round the corner. Located on the top floor of Fulshaw House, it has lovely views out to the east and north. Brenda and her engaging and friendly team members looked after us admirably. The few, unavoidable issues that we had were resolved quickly and professionally. We were grateful and will be returning. Jonathan. Johannesburg, South Africa

Exceptional stay! Loved the warm welcome. The location is very convenient, had superb shower pressure, allocated parking, and fast WiFi. Plus the service very professional. I would highly recommend this company.

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Cheltenham Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Site, Prestbury Park, Cheltenham, Prestbury, Gloucestershire GL50 4SH, UK – 01242 523102

Very convenient for Cheltenham Park and Ride. You will be charged even if you have a National Bus Pass from the Park and Ride stop.....however if you catch the bus, e.g. at the Evesham Road stop round the corner, no charge. Nice friendly staff here, great views to the hills over the racecourse.

Really weird feeling when you drive in compared to other C&MC sites given it's location and the location of some pitches. Given a choice of pitches. Facilities spacious but not the best I have experienced. Public transport to town from the Park & Ride 200 metres away. If you have a bus pass walk to the next stop into town. (Racecourse Roundabout Stop ID: glodtjmt at the top end of Evesham Road) There is a £1 charge for bus pass holders at the P&R.
