Golf Clubs near Woodmancote

Find your nearest golf course or club or golf pro in or around Woodmancote. Actually this is really great way to see all the golf courses around Gloucestershire at a glance. You will see distances and directions from you location and of course the all-important telephone number to check green fees and whether you can play when you want to play. Whenever I want to play it seems to be a Medal Day!

Tip! If you would like a cheap round of golf ask whether they do a Twilight rate. There is really nothing nicer than 9 holes after work - at half price!

Golf Courses

Cleeve Hill Golf Club Ltd

Cleeve Hill, Cheltenham GL52 3PW, UK – 01242 672025

GOLF REVIEW only! This has to be the hardest course that I have played and whilst I would recommend giving it a go DON'T PLAY ALONE because many of the holes have unseen greens from the tee and in some cases, even the second shot meaning that it's easy to lose a ball even when you think that you've played a reasonable shot! It's also (seems) a very long course so a good test of fitness!! I believe that the course has recently been recommended as one of the top 100 courses in the UK. It has a 'links' feel with sheep and walkers roaming openly, although I didn't find this a problem. There are many undulations with some steep climbs and descents; also some of the slopes on the fairways require careful shot placements to avoid your ball rolling away from where intended! Most of the greens are fairly small, which also require accurate shots ..... although I did find they ran 'true' in spite of some tricky pin placements. There aren't many sand bunkers but there are a variety of natural grass 'bunkers' and together with the quarry like "holes" there's plenty of challenges. I'd definitely play this course again especially armed with my experience of my first times BUT next time I'll take some playing buddies!!!

Visited for a meal after walking the dog around Cleeve Hill. Service is quick and the food portions are good. A reasonable selection on the menu and a daily specials board as well. A nice tasty meal with a good view.

Mr Mulligan's Lost World Golf

Unit 5A, The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham GL50 4FA, UK – 01242 787940

Had a great time on a Tuesday afternoon, only downside in my opinion was we were made to decide which course to take out of 2. I feel the one we chose was less exciting than the other, which we didn't realise until we were half way around. Well maintained. Reasonably priced. Suitable for all ages.

Went on a Saturday at 1.00pm. The weather was very hot outside and consequently Mr Mulligans was very quiet. Its a great place to take kids. Book online for best prices. Takes about an hour for 18 holes. Restaurant is a bit pricey but there are plenty of places to eat within a minute.
